SUMMATIVE REFLECTION

After reviewing the summary report, slides and video under, the many readings from Duffy (2013) throughout the QSL courses, and Laloux (2016), prepare a response letter to Dr. Patricia Ganz. In your letter, acknowledge the strengths of the report and share with Dr. Ganz at least two recommendations for improving the cancer care system based on your new-found systems knowledge. If she were to reconvene the committee on your recommendation, what would the committee focus on? What are the next steps? Do not be constrained by current systems in your thinking and recommendations for this assignment.

PROCESS REFLECTION

Scholars will choose an acute complex condition of their choice.  This condition will include risk factors, diagnosis, interventions [including caring science interventions], medications and prognosis.  a focus will be on the relational feedback aspects of the processes.

EVALUATIVE REFLECTION

A self-selected group of nurse scholars in a similar work setting or with a similar interest in a quality topic will agree upon a QI project from existing QI projects in their facility. This project will form the basis of several assignments in term 3 and 4. In term 3 (464) you will write the QIP Part I, academic paper, about the project and your group will give a presentation on the project. In term 4 you will create Part II of the QIP paper. Although this is a “group” project, each person will write his/her own paper of the same agreed upon project.

Read, reflect, and discussion the Biology of Caring as an aspect of complex adaptive systems.  How does this article complement or not, the new information on the role of inflammation in disease process?  How do you see this information informing your nursing praxis?

Within that framework reflect on where you were regarding caring and caritas as you came into the RN to BSN program and where you are now. Provide concrete, descriptive examples or narrative vignettes of changes in each of the domains.
